Chopper is a type of motorcycle, founded in America in the late '50s of the twentieth century. The prototype for a massive chopper motorcycle Harley-Davidson. Word of a chopper in the literal sense means "chop", "hack". It could mean "odsiekanie" from the massive Harley-Davidson unwanted parts, creating a lightweight touring bike. The removal of unnecessary elements aimed at reducing vehicle weight, so you can fully utilize the power of the engine. So far the choppers are built based on Harley-Davidson motorcycles and their components. The characteristics of these cycles is a long fork, relaxed driving position (low saddle, legs stretched forward, the steering pulled to the top) and the specific sound of a loud motor. Under communism, the only available bikes in Poland were the models of Harley - Davidson WLA and it is formed based on their Polish choppers. In the absence of the relevant parts, all bikes were created in home workshops and garages. Later began to build choppers based on heavy motorcycles in the Soviet pre-war and labor battalions. Currently in Poland this type of motorcycles are not popular because of the custom parts and high costs.
